Step 1

TONING CABLE

Tone Mode can be used to trace cables by sound. A cadence is emitted

from the unit through a connected cable. The cadence can only be

detected and ampliﬁ ed with an analog tone probe, such as the Klein Tools

PROBEplus tone tracing probe (VDV500-060) not included, and is not

audible to the human ear without the probe.

Enabling Tone Mode:

Press the Power button.

Press the Tone button (two music notes).

Press the Up button or Down button to switch cadences (HI, LO,

HL1, HL2).

Use a tone probe to trace the cable being toned.

how to tone cables.
